decided to keep
after spending last summer restoring my campaign with a no expense spared bare metal resto, i was put in a very difficult position as to sell the newly restored one or sell the part restored helious one because my wife got pregnant again(still tryin to find the one who done it) as three kids, house, wife and 2 gti's going through resto are killing my pocket.
anyway after serious advertising and no one prepared to even view the car when price mentioned (?3000.00) even thouth i have full photo and financial evidence of cost time and scars to hand (3 stiches) i was not prepared to haggle with idiots i have decided to put the blue one on hold for a few months and enjoy the drive of the silver one .
so chapter two is about to begin
2 ltr conversion
rear disc conversion
and maybe full leather
new fuel lines
oh and by the way we had a son

good one m8, enjoy the car after all the hard work you've put into it….don't be afraid to drive it every day after all they were meant to be driven!

i agree with your view of driving them. i hate these people who restore a car and then store it in a garage and only bring it out when the forecast is good for days on end, why bother with a car. get in them and leather them after all thats what they were built for

Damn right...
When I used to do the VW Club scenen, I would enter my Golf in concours competitions - didn't stop me from driving it (sometimes driving it hard) everyday…
