if you can find a decent one then yes, but they're like hens teeth and when they do pop up they're usually v.expensive. I've gone for the 101+ option  8O

Nope! There are a couple of companies in Germany doing repro's - don't know what they are like though.

I opted for ?81 - ?100, as it doesn't have end caps or hangers… I think the end caps are harder to get than the bumpers!

Anyone got an idea of how much chroming costs? I've got a brand new metal rear bumper that I want chromed 8)

You are looking at ?100 per bumper for a decent job. The repro ones are cack.

Ok so I got it wrong with the poll pricing ?213 it went for, very slow until the last 3 hours before end it was standing at ?62.

BUT I've found this little set front and rear chrome bumpers with brackets. starting bid ?250 so thinking around the ?500 - ?600 mark

That complete set will fetch loads. The rear bumper doesn't look straight in that pic though…

The chrome ones do look nice, but I'd rather have 2 golfs with plastic bumpers on both

totally agree, they are very nice and I would like a set, but really they need to be on an original car and i'm sure I could think of better things to spend me money on. That said if I had an original pre '78 car that needed them then I could justify the cost as I spent over ?300 on original plastic VAG bumpers before I notice I could get them from GPC for much cheeper

WOW!

In todays market, that is a bargain, not too much more than I paid for mine before everyone and their dog wanted a set!

Also - Jus to add, I disagree about the point made that they should be on an original car. I think mine looks loads better with chromes than plastics!  :mrgreen:
