Car Bra's: Dangerous?
Anyone else think those car bra things that go over the leading edge of your bonnet are a little bit dangerous?
Last meet we were at, there was a 'rado there with one just being fitted.
Jaimie goes to me "What's that thing?"
I go "It's a car bra, to protect the bonnet from stone chips."
Next thing I know, Jaimies smacked me in the arm, told me she' wasn't born yesterday and that I should stop talking such rubbish then stormed off to sit in the E36.
Took me and 4 other people 20 minutes in the pub later to convince her that it genuinely was a "Car Bra". Bloomin dangerous things!

Think he knows what they're for, OP was more about the girly punch than the actual bra

Ironically, they are known to scratch/damage paintwork if left on for long periods. One of the most useless things in life, probably.

No, they are used to cause an argument with the girl you are with and you end up getting punched.
(It's not as funny when you have to explain it is it? lol)

the only one thats any good is the full bra that covers the full front and protects the bumper etc, but like above the car must be spotless before it fitted or as its on and moves around it scratches the paint work, and if its on for more than 1 trip it will get dirt behide it anyways which causes scratching
stone chips are a fact of life, deal with it.

I've acquired a stone chip on the top of my front wing near the wing aerial…so bonnet bra would have been useless to me. I heard some of them mark the paintwork if they get damp aswell. Nowt worse than a damp bra

If you leave one on a Tornado red car for long enough, the paint under the bra won't sun-fade and you'll end up with tan lines - hate that! lolol

I'm not really a follower of the scene. Give me a bright orange Mk1 tin top with a Clipper kit, blacked out windows, bee-sting, eyebrow, de-badged grill, 15" BBS wheels with a nice dish, recaros, a big stereo, lowered to the floor, 16v or G60 lump under the bonnet and a massive stereo install and I'm happy!

Brit look cool 8)
Like you, im just building my mk1 how I want it, just guess the younger people are growing up with stretched tyres, poke, car bras, camo wraps etc.
(Edit- I have a pair of wheels running stretched tyres, as well as pair of normal sized tyres on my ronals, just what I want to run.)
Guess brit look was the scene back in the day, just a lot less hyped up, some of these scene people, think they are superstars, and just build a car to get noticed, rather than for the love of the cars, and then sell them after a couple of features  Im just happy in the garage putting the hours in, pleasing myself  Its about mk1s and the people you meet who think the same as you, saves boring your mates to death down the pub!

Rant over.
