can anyone tell me plz

hi, i am going to take my twin 40 webbers off but need to replace them with a standard carb, will a carb from a scirocco 1.8 fit straight on, mine is not injection nor is the one i would like to replace it with, do i use the manafold from the scirocco as well?????????????
  
how can i be sure my golf cab is definatley a mk1?, i have reciepts saying it is but i need to know for sure, can anyone lead me in the right dir

assuming your cab is an 1800 then yes, use the scirocco manifold, if your able to try and find a scirocco with a weber on as these are better carbs, if your cab is pre k plate its a mk1 cab! never made a mk2

If I remember rightly the 1.8 carb has the water heated manifold. So as well as the manifold, for the original Pierberg carb you are going to need:

air cleaner and bracket
coolant hoses to manifold
vacuum pipes
air intake pipe
throttle cable

Also make sure you have the wiring for the carb intact on your car.

wayhay, found 1.8 webber carb and manifold, but cant get manifold off, i think there is one more bolt on the underside but cant get to it, anyone have any idears how to get to it?, i think its under the second inlet port on the right as you look at it from the front, i have all the other bits for it.
  when i get it off and put the new one on i will be selling the twin 40's with the manifold and cones with socks.
