Call for Nominations! (please read second!)
Roles Required:
Chairman
Generally keeps things running smoothly whereever possible!
Treasurer
Manages and approves financial matter wrt the club's costs and income.
Club Secretary
Looks after correspondance, answers phone, generally deals with day to day interaction with the public, problems with membership, classifieds etc. Liasing with all other committee members.
Events Coordinator
Deals with organising local and regional meetings, liasing with treasurer and secretary
Website Coordinator
Looks after day to day running of the website, problems, downtime, backups with assistance from online teams
Merchandise Coordinator
Looks after all requests for merchanise and negotiates with suppliers for stock liasing with secretary and treasurer
Register Owners x4
Look after lists of cars on each register, liasing with secretary for offline information and website coordinator online.
Moderators
Keeping the website healthy, tidy and organised. Liasing with Website coordinator.
Rules :
You can propose anybody for any of the roles (Though I don't suggest we worry about the register owners and moderators unless any of them are particularly unhappy and want to step down!)
You can propose the same person for more than one role, though I think a maximum of two is sensible. (I have effectively been doing my best at most of these roles too date, but it's obviously going to be too much for one person as a proper club. If someones fancies proposing me I'd be happy to stand as the chairman and the website coordinator!)
There can be multiple proposals for any role, a vote will be taken at the AGM in this case.
Proposals should be seconded by a different person.
There will be an opportunity to propose people at the AGM, prior to the vote.
Cheers,
Drew.

I'm also proposing Rob Woolley (username adolf on here) as the treasurer. He's already an accountant so knows what is required.
Cheers,
Drew.

Kind of depends who get elected…. I discussed this with Anita last night. If folks are happy as me as the chairman and her as secretary, we can probably split out the secretarial tasks a bit. Anita has done membership stuff before and I've got the PR background to do the ..er.. PR.
Worth a discussion though, what do people think?
Cheers,
Drew.

Good point! Anita should be able to come with me (dropping the boys at granny's).
Any more ideas folks? Keep those nominations coming in!
Cheers,

I am the secretary for my archery club. In our club constitution, it states as follows;
No eligible member of the club shall hold and executive position on the committee, if another member, holding a similar position, is of the same family unless the position cannot be filled by the current membership.'
Drew, I've no problem really with Anita being secretary but Rich is right that if you guys are on holiday and you end up Chairman (which I think you should) then that is the mainstay of the committee gone as legally a club is only required to have a Chairman, Secretary and Treaurer.
I can speak from experience having seen a Chairman/Secretary of the same family in a club and it CAN open a whole can of worms for you even if you do nowt wrong!
Like I said, nothing against you or Anita but I think you should consider this carefully.
As an aside and general comment for peeps, bear in mind that (for what it's worth) if you are a committee member you are legally responsible/accountable for/to the club.

Very sensible, I like that and Anita concurs! She was quite happy with the unless the position cannot be filled …. quite happy to volunteer if nobody else steps forward.
Good suggestions!

Drew.
