what those every bodythink of me putting a vau***ll redtop in my golf because iv been toying with the idea of a redtop on 48s and cammed allthe usual stuff good 220 bhp iv seen it done on a mk2 but not in a light stripped out mk1 what do you lot think ? :dontknow:

a redtop is vauxhall best engine ever it has a head that was produced by cosworth it is naturally aspirated and puts out 156 bhp as stansard with a set of carbs and deccent cams and haed work can put out 260bhp at 8500rpm that in my mk1 wil fly

I'd say the Mi16 is just as good as the XE :wink:

Only a few were made by Cosworth - the rest were copied by Vauxhall and wern't as good quality. There's a tale tale sign to visually distinguish the original lumps but i've forgotten what it is!

TBH, it's a good idea but it won't go down well in the VW scene. In general, most dubbers are a bit… blinkered when it comes to other marques. I personally wouldn't but only cos i'm a little blinkered myself

I've seen the MK2 Golf XE in photos but a member of PVW tried tracking him down with no sucess :dontknow:
