Buying guides
Perhaps a question for the likes of Rajan and others rather than Drew, but given we now have four registers should we have in the buying guides section tips on buying Carbrios and Series 1 cars - esp. covering original spec etc.
Would be a good source of information for anyone looking for an original soft top or small rear light MK1

Happy to do more of a history of the Series 1, covering spec, models and changes over time.
In terms of buying and what to look out for, Series 1 is not really to different than any Mk1 Golf. The only noteworthy points are that no wheel arch liners were fitted meaning rear arches and front wings must be checked extra carefully, less wax protection was applied (though its not as bad as many say, lots was still applied), and the VIN can be found on the right suspension turret rather than the scuttle panel.
I will get down to both soon!
Cheers
