Any Plumbers out there...I need some help!!!

i need some help

currently i'm fitting a new suite but i've never been impressed with the shower

it's a bit of a drip!!!

so what i wanna know a few things about shower pumps

are they any good ?

how reliable are they?

and will that make my drips into a nice health flow of water

a bit of a long shot ona car forum but there must be some plumber out there or even someone with a pump tell me you stories

don't know the ins and outs, but what type of shower do you have? it's the water pressure your getting that affects the shower pressure. there are electric showers with built in pumps or you can run aa seperate pump. is it in the bathroom> what's the water pressure like from the taps? if that's o.k. then you shouldn't need a pump. is your shower head all scaled up? you'll be amazed how much a difference descaling or replacing the shower head can make.

it a gravity feed shower from the hot and cold in the loft

but there is very little drop from top of the tanks and the shower head which means i get very little preasure

it is just about bearable but i want it better if i'm going the whole hog with the rest of the bath room

i've been told to lift the tanks but there is no room in the loft space

so i just wanna put a pump in to bring the pressure up but keep hearing mixed stories about them

Had a pump put in where I work as the water pressure is a joke especially with a gravity fed shower.  Pump fitted for the shower and its like a jet wash now.  So in my experience a winner.  I'm not a plumber tho.

i need to know weather they are much aggro to look after and will they break when i'm butt naked ready for a shower 8O  8O  8O  8O  8O

that depends on what you buy/how much you spend. a butt naked jellybelly isn't a pleasant thought

Been there for about 4 years i think, never known it go wrong or heard any moans about it.  No idea of the make or spec or anything like that i'm afraid.  I should imagine being a pump it will draw a fair amount of current and spin the meter round abit!

can you recommend one wooders??

Matt, i swear by aqualisa digital showers, fitted them in last house and this house.

Bit costly at £400+ but very very good quality + look the nuts.

any more advise from people

I'm a tiler not a plumber but have worked for a bathroom firm, the pumps they have fitted are quite noisy even when put in the loft(they were good quality ones) and resulted in complaints from customers.

Not a Plumber but in construction. Aqualisa or Mira are good makes and guess they start at £150 upwards depending on budget. dont mess around with a seperate pump in the loft, just get a electric shower unit. Maintenance isnt really an issue, really simple things maybe ask advice if suitable to hard or soft water area (depending on what you have).
