Cool Car!
Can I be cheeky and ask how much you let it go for?
Would the green have been the original colour?

Yes its the original colour Ford Modena Green. I used to be in the Cortina mk3 club in the mid 90's and this was the only one out of the 300 car membership that was in this colour from the factory. Mainly used on Escorts of that period.
Heres a pic of a 1975 Ford Cortina Flyer. Could have been my car!

Got a fair price for it but not disclosing actual amount.

Nice ford, how come you sold it? I generally like older cars apart from Beetles :x . One nice golf coming our way as well then.
Too many toys and not enough space basically but I hadn't really had much interest in it for a few years and they take time and money just doing nothing. I thought I would let someone else enjoy it instead.
I think pound for pound the Golf is a better investment for the long term.
Also - nicer to drive and cheaper to run.
I don't think the Golf will ever get the heads turning like that Ford did though!! - sorry.

This may be a bit of a spooky coinsidence, but is the new owner from south Derbyshire/Burton on Trent area?
I'm sure I've just been about 3 cars behind this on my way home from work!
Not too many of these about and they do stand out in a crowd!

It looks as good in "Real life" as it does in the pictures!
He was turning into the local Halfords. Probably after some furry dice?

I'm only 21 don't you know   Just kidding I was 19 when I bought it.
Wouldn't go so far as to bringing a tear but it did hold a few memories for both me and the wife.
Just got too many projects / toys and never had the time or motivation for it anymore.
Probably regret it one day but ah well :dontknow: Got what I thought was a fair price for it though it was always going to be worth more to me than anyone else. "Life on Mars" did the power of good to the value of them.
You'll be pleased to here I'm putting some of the money to fund an airchamber for the Golf.
