1976 Motor mag

Bought a copy of motor from 1976 the other day, as it has a full road test of the mk1.
The one tested is a small metal bumper, small rear light 1600, 4 speed.MKT512R.
The artical thinks its a shame its only available in LHD form.
Its compared the car with the ford escort rs2000, triumph dolomite sprint, renault 17ts, colt galant gto and alfetta 1.8.
It is given a star rating for various areas( out of 5)

Visability ***
Instruments ****
Heating ***

Finish ****
Its a interesting read.
And dont worry its the best car there.

Strange, I have a 1975 Motor mag with the first road test of the Golf in the UK and it is RHD!  UK launch was only a few months after LHD production started.

Edit: I guess you mean the GTi, right? I have the same article and also Peter Noad's test of the same car in Safer Motoring. MKT was a 1977 Model Year.
