Which Exhaust
I am going to need a new exhaust when I get the Mk1 back on the road and I would like a performance/sports system for it.
What would you recommend?

I have Jetex one on mine. It's mild steel construction so not excessively heavy and not intrusively loud either. It 'throbs' away nicely. Stainless systems in my experience can be a bit heavy. I was forever renewing hangers on my Scorpion equipped Corrado

ooh i like that. answers with no answers.
personally i like the jetex systems. mild steel and good quality. can't go wrong with magnex and supersprint, though the magnex is heavy and needs good rubbers to hold it up. scorpion, ashley and peco are loud. no experience of others that i can think of.

Another word from experience…
As the exhaust is going to be a larger bore it takes up more room as it threads its way over the torsion beam on the rear suspension. Then if your car has been lowered there'll be less room again and then if you have a couple of passengers in the back and a full tank of fuel expect the beam to bang the exhaust against the floorpan.
A good, well made exhaust should be designed with a 'flat' spot on the pipe that goes over the torsion beam. The Jetex does.

as does supersprint. my magnex didn't but i never had the banging troubles, nor did i have that on my jetex rally system and that was 2 1/2" bore. i know what you mean though.
supersprint is standard bore size. magnex 2 1/4" jetex do 2" and 2 1/2"

supersprint is NOT stainless steel, and if i recall correctly, yes it does have the flick. don't take the flick as gospel though.

i think you have a choice to what end of tailpipe looks like, my supersprint was stainless steel but not sure where you can get them. just bought magnex ,good quality but not sure if tailpipe looks a bit big/ boy racer 3 1/2 inch compared to standard exhaust. got a few adjustments to make but seems it will be a good fit.

I have a Scorpian back box and it sounds tuff. Very deep when your over about 3000rpms and then when you tearing it, it screams! 8)
