Fairly simple job I think - no need to remove the tank or rear axle. Not sure on the technicalities, but as long as you're happy to have a crack, it shouldn't cost you much more than 50 quid…

Make sure tank is near empty (belown top of red)
Remove filler cap
Remove three screws behind cap
Remove 10mm bolt in wheel arch
Undo jubillee clip at the bottom
Remove filler neck
Assess body corrosion and repair
Reassembly is the reversal of removal (to coin a phrase
