Whirring fuel pump

Evening all,

Can someone remind me whether it's normal for the fuel pump to be making a whirring noise all the time. I'm just getting my Golf ready for MOT this weekend and had it running this evening to fix a fuel leak. I've not had it running for so long that I can't remember whether I could hear it last time.

Hi,
They do 'buzz' a little - and they seem to do it more so when the outside temp is warm/hot.

Some say it's a sign that they are on the way out - though i don't agree with that.

Should be fine!
