Which throttle body.

I am maybe looking at getting a bigger throttle dosy for my 83 GTi DX engined MK1.
Which one is the best to go for ?
Although i only have a standard head but i will be fitting a 4 into 1 ashley branch manifold and supersprint system.
I have read that you dont really notice the differance?
Some one also told me to look for a series 1 MK2 GTI as they have bigger throttle bodies on them…….?
Any advice guys would be helpfull and feel free to tell me if you have one for sale :wink:

You only really notice the difference once the inlet manifold and head have been ported and polished. The 8V has relatively small valves (relative to 16V, or the maximum possible enlargement on 8V) so head work is a good way to add power.

worth doing even without head work. won't see too much benefit unless the inlet manifold is port matched though. it's cheap and easy and helps aid other mods, so go ahead.
 i'd go for the audi 5pot 2.2 throttle. should be a straight swap then.
