Which Stainless Steel Exhaust for a mk 1 GTi

Hi all,

Was wondering what everyones feelings were on stainless steel exhausts for mk1s.

Is there any particular brands i should look at?

i had a supersrpint and a magnex, both very good, bit pricey but if you buy new they come with a decent guarantee.

how loud were they in the car? not all that keen to have a dronning bassy rally sound..

not too loud, magnex burbled alot down  steep hills, but that might have been car causing that. supersprint was recomended by C&R at nottingham and they know what they are talking about, but i did prefer the magnex.

supersprint is not stainless steel.
magnex is not loud. i had one. very good quality. i can recommend them. have never heard anyone have anything bad to say about supersprint.

Thanks, ill have a look for a retailer and check the price/look of the magnex.

I dont wwant the pipe to look much more different than standard.

i too am looking for one or these.  i really want a similar size tailpipe and with the kink at the end like the original design though.

do you have a picture of the magnex tailpipe?

If you click the link above your post the pictures of the tail pipes are on the RHS.. its only available in round 3.5inch straight.

In this months PVW mag there is a two page write up on the magnex systems, explaining thier construction etc. Have to say they look well made, proof of the pudding is in the eating though!
