Rough warm idle.

After buying an 83 GTI which has been stored since 1996 i am having some problems with the cars idle.
The car was put to Star performance in Glenrothes to get the car running. 8)
The car has a new fuel pump fitted.
A new set of injectors.
A replaced metering head.
Plugs and leads replaced.
The filler neck was relaced in 1995 and is clean.
The fuel tank was drained and i have used a full tank of fresh fuel.
There was also injector cleaner put in the system to clean out the fuel system and pipes.
But the car seams to "hunt" when idling while warm.
It revs cleanly, starts well when cold and idles well when cold.

Any tips folks???

Do you mean to remove the bypass and clean it or do it in situ by just removing the inlet hose.
I was wondering about taking the whole inlet assembly off and cleaning it all down with carb cleaner.
A friend also said to remove and clean out the "control pressure regulator"
Any thoughts on the matter.
Much thanks for all your advice again crazyquiff :D

I'd take it right off and give it a good clean - any small bits of dirt or carbon buildup will affect how accuruate the idel is.

It's always worth cleaning the system occasionally but do one bit at a time so that you identify fixes and problems as you go through.

You'll need a new o ring or some thread lock if you move the idle adjustment screw.

I found out the hard way exactly how long it takes for a loose idle screw to wobble all the way in.
