PLEA FOR HELP!!! It has happened again - Cutting out engine

I have posted a similar post in electric post prior to this one, What my problem is when i am driving nicely along I get random times when the engine dies on me. The only sign i get this has happened is i can feel the car slowing (becasue it is still in gear) All my spark plugs are firing, i was told it could be a fuel filter problem, i haven't yrt gotten round to changing it but i thought i would ask to see if anyone else has had the same problem and knows how to fix it. I am looking to get rid of the car but dont really think this would help the selling price.
Please help!!!

Have you checked the archive threads at the bottom of the forum yet? Could be a common problem and the answer is already there for you?

Could be a few things, but mine started cutting out randomly and got progressively worse. I did a full service (filters, plugs, etc, etc, - needed doing anyway) but in the end it turned out to be the fuel pump relay. If the car runs fine otherwise, I don't think it'll be a problem with filters personally.
Good luck !

Could be a rusty fuel filler neck and dirt/rust getting into the fuel system. Check the condition of the filler neck and and whether there is any dirt in the filter.

so far so good

I have fitted a new relay and all of a sudden have begun hearing the fuel pump whirr when i stick my key into position two, i take this as a good sign unless anybody can tell me otherwise, i have got a new fuel filter just gotta get the damn thing fitted.

Yes - the pump should buzz for a second when you turn the ignition on. Once cranking the starter and the engine fires it comes on constantly.
