nother exhaust query

Im due to replace the exhaust on my mk1 golf but its the non gti model cabby with the bowl type connection. I am after a bit of advice on the best way to fit the c clamps back on and good ol' mr haynes says u need a special tool.

Mr haynes does`nt say a price but its a few quid more than i would pay for it..

Here is a very simple and cheap way of getting the "C" Clamps on and off the dreaded Carbed version exhaust/manifold system using a new Exhaust clamp. The exhaust clamp will open and close the C clamp as shown in pic.




I did think about making a tool solely for this purpose now that i have a magic electrickery tool. A MIG welder!
