No fuel getting to the engine..Is it the lift pump?
I have 1985 GL Cabby (1600 carb model) thats been off the road for a few months having a bit of TLC.
It was running fine when I took it off the road, but since changing the fuel filler neck it's not wanted to start :dontknow:
There doesn't seem to be any fuel getting to the engine as the fuel filter is dry.
I've checked all of the fuses which seem fine so at the weekend I set to taking a look at the lift pump.
Should it whir or click when the ignition is turned on?
I checked with a multimeter first and the lift pump seems to be earth'd fine and is getting power. Just to double check I put 12v across the pump but there was still no noise.
Is it likely this has failed or should I be looking at something else?
Could it be the relay? And is there a way of checking this?

Is it possible to get the pressure back in the fuel line or will I be on the look out for a new line?

Top tip - if you're replacing the rear ones, undo at the top and tie a piece of string to the line, then pull the line out from underneath. This will save groping around at the front of the fuel tank, and might save removing the tank.
Top tip #2 - if the sender lines are perished, the return lines aren't going to be too long gone after it.
