no fuel getting to my injectors

hi right can any one help i am bring my mk1 gti back on the road after 8yrs thort i wud try 2 get it running but she just wud not fire up. by looking i hv founed that there is a problem with fuel not getting to the eng the pump is fine thena it gets 2 the filter and the fuel distributor body but then i hav found it goes strat back 2 the tank and not to the injectors hav been told that is the rubber seals by a nobody but is it true  :dontknow:
 
can it b fixed by me or do i need a new one or is he right can anyone help thanks if u can
