new filler neck rubber

hi ive had to get a new fule filler neck rubber as the one that was on the car was split.
Its took me most of today to remove the filler neck ( fooked screws) but when it came to putting thr new rubber on i got stuck as ive put the rubber on the filler neck the problem bit is trying to join the filler neck back to the petrol tank. Is thair any easy way of doing this? if so i would be greatfull if you could let me know

Smear a a bit of engine oil around the neck of the fuel tank, this should help the hose slide on a bit easier. Other than that I'm afraid it's a case of wrestling it on.

well i finally got 5 mins today to play with the golf so i got some oil and put it around the neck as suggested. After struggling for some time i finally got it on
