MK1 Gti fuel lines

I need to replace the perrished flexi lines that come out the tank and go down towards the drivers side rear axle. My question is: once it passes the axle, do the flexi lines go to hard pipe or does it stay flexi? I need to get some new line and stuff tomorrow to fix it at the weekend, do I just need enough to do the two knackered bits or a whole lot more?!

I had to leave the car at a mates so i haven't got it to look at i'm just going from my petrol soaked memory. If there's anything major i've missed, please let me know. Thanks. :mrgreen:
