Mk1 golf sportline 1993 non starter

Hi left my sportline parked up for 5 ish weeks, now it wont start, great spark at plugs, no fuel getting to them though, am i right in thinking that after cranking the key returns to no.2 postion and you here the pump buzz for a few seconds, as mine isnt doing this im thinking fuel pump relay?
 Any info would be just super………………………..Chris

hi mate yep on my 92 sportline you get that buzz sound i think linked to fuel pump, then it starts, have you checked your fuses, maybe its a fuse for the fuel pump?
