Leaking Fuel
Garage just phoned and told me my car has failed its MOT as its leaking fuel from a coroded pipe somewhere near the bulkhead. :dontknow: :dontknow:
I'm going to look at it at half 4 but can anyone shed any light on which pipe this may be? Or could it be multiple ones?
Totally stupid on this stuff, sorry if its vague.
Raul.

If its on the bulkhead, then there's the flow and return pipes which go across it, from the right to the left of the car, and make a turn to come up somewhere near the metering head. Probably quite tricky to access with the engine in. Im assuming its a GTI? No other model has the fuel pipes on the bulkhead.

Yeah Paul its an 1800 GTI sorry i should of said.
As i said i'm going to take a look in an hour or so, and will prob get the parts i need form Quiff.
I'm going to get the garage to do it, sounds costly!!
Should i buy rigid lines or go for the flexi type and replace all??

In a perfect world you're replace the entire pipe, but I'd understand if you simply did a repair job on the corroded section. Try www.automec.co.uk for pipes and fittings, will probably be the cheapest around.
