Kangaroo Car
A few weeks ago my GTI started playing up. It was spluttering and shaking, jumping like a kangaroo i thought it would be a fuel line problem as I have recently replaced all the lines or maybe the ignition coils as I had noticed similar posts on the site stating this could be the problem. Anyway after I toed the car home it was fine, well for about a week and then it started again I managed to get home this time so had a look under the bonet and noticed that when the accelerator was pressed and the jumping began that there were sparks where the clutch cable made contact with some of the electrical wiring. I thought this maybe the problem shorting something out so I fitted a rubber sleeve over the worn area to seperate the two line and hey presto it worked a treat no more jumping. It could have been a costly job trying to find the problem so thought it may help someone else who is having a similar problem.
Hope this helps someone. Ade

Re: Kangaroo Car
The cable was probably earthed where the sleeving had worn through, but I'd have a good look for another wire touching it somewhere else.
