interchangable injectors

Hi

Just a quick question.
Just wondered if injectors are interchangable between years.
I've got an 83, 1.8 DX engined Golf, and i got hold of some later, injectors.
They look exactly the same.  The treads are the same size, and they don't have the top hat bit on them.  The only difference is the part numbers (which i don't have to hand, but can look at if required).
Just want to know if they're interchangeable.
Do they have different spray patterns or work at different pressures etc.
I know there've been posts on a similar subject, but i couldn't find any that directly relate to this.

Both fit and do the same job ……..I don't no the difference  :dontknow:
