Help Required - Fuel Pump Info
How do, does anyone know the inlet/outlet size of the mechanical fuel pump on a 1989 1.8 carbed golf?
Mine packed in last night and my auto factors reckon theres 2 sizes, one with a bigger outlet. My cars completely standard.
Im getting the bus to and from work so can only get the part delivered and the shops shut before i get home.
Bloody bus is costing me ?10 a day so need to fix asap.

No my fault, problem is im at work at present so couldnt look but im sure its the 6mm inlet and 5-6mm outlet on my car.
been offered lift to halfrauds after work, they have one in for ?15, if its the wrong type, ill just stick it on ebay - worth the risk if it saves me ?10 in bus fair
Live in the sticks so public transport to these places is nightmare

Its ok, just fitted the pump from halfords and its working fine now, just took it on a 3mile blast and seems happy.
Halfords only had the one pump on the system linked to my clipper so my local motor factor must have a wierd system. and they were gonna charge ?23 compared to the 15 from halfords
anyway pretty straight forward job, took an hour as some of the jubilee clips were rusted solid
few nice gob fulls of petrol as well, tastes like tesco value vodka!
