Help please non starter

Guys and girlies i cant get the bugger to start theres spark, petrol goes to start but just wont kick!?!?!?!?!

You need to give us more info on your car starting problem. I was just illustrating how vague a reply could be, I apologise….

what paul means and what we would all like, is as much info, no matter how tenuous it may seem, as you can possibly muster.
 you would be surprised how some people may go through a 3 page thread and then tell you that they had just fitted a new metering head prior to the problem.

I was kinda hanging out for what engine he had, ie carburettor or injection. And "fresh" wasn't a complete fabrication - check the fuel is fresh (has the car been stood for a length of time, or did it run recently? If so when?) and that the battery is fully charged.

If it's injection it could be a number of things… first thing I'd do is whip the injector's out to make sure fuel is actually coming out of them

if you've not had it running.. could be something like ignition timing

that's where I'd probably start anyway, with some fresh fuel too :wink:

If it's carbs..  :dontknow: wouldn't know as I'm not a carb man really

sorry, its a 1.8 8v mk2 engine if there any different. ive looked for spark adn got that, been and got petrol so theres some of that,

so i think checking the injectors is next….if thats not it the compresion tesrt well be done
