gti exhaust on a modded 1.3

hi, i have a 1.1 with a polo gt engine in it it with bike carbs on. its produces around 100bhp and i was wondering if it would manage with a gti exhaust on it from the down pipe back?  also can any1 suggest a stainless one that dosnt cost the earth and isnt REALLY loud.

As for stainless - My brother had a Mongoose system. Not the best looking tailpipe, but it sounded nice and quiet during normal driving, but gave a nice, not to loud, note when booting it! Think it was ?250…

thanks, il have a look at them. thinking about it now actually, it dosnt make much difference if its quiet or not because the carbs are so loud its not like im gunna go unnoticed.

I must admit I do like the sound of a Mongoose system! a mate of mine swears by supersprint systems but have yet to hear one so don't know if that would be too loud! and they're not the cheapest

I fancy the Group A system which is about ?200 (Mild Steel though).
Spoke to a guy at supersprints UK office (or something) about part numbers for the system and he was really helpful but did say that if you use the rear box and straight through centre section as I wanted too, it is a very loud exhaust!

Centre box is probably a must for road use or it would be just plain annoying…

Can imagine if you do any motorway travel, it would give you a headache after a while!

i have a supersprint group A 60mm fitted with a 4 branch exhaust manifold but it has a middle damper or expansion damper and it is pretty quite . the carbs make way more noise on motorway journeys. the system is mild steel but very solid and a good fit.

if you want something a bit custom why not try someone like powerflow i think they have dealers all over the uk and for about ?300 they'll make it as quiet or noisey as you want. plus most of the time its only stainless systems they do.
