GSF PETROL TANK

i dont know if i,ve posted this in the right place?
its been a few months now since i,ve put new tank on
and i,m still getting flakey bits of paint from the inside of the tank
in the filter in fuel pump :twisted:

Don't know if that's normal but sure it shouldn't be. Have you spoken to GSF about it?

no i havent . but its such a pain of a job i dont want to take it off again !

It might be a bit of a grey area but I'm guessing if tank is 'faulty' then you could have some entitlement to some compensation for your time for replacing/re-fitting or maybe they'd pay for someone to do it.

It's amazing what a solicitors letter can do should you ever need to go that far!

Did you change the filler neck?  There should be no paint inside the tank.  Is it a GTI?

I was gonna buy a gsf fuel tank, what prep should i do to it before fitting it to the car?

yes i changed the filler neck and yes its a gti
the gsf tank was sprayed silver inside and out and it does have filter inside
it like the original tank did. but i got a small filter in the pump
