going from carb to injection- fuel tanks.
i have a mk1 cabby for parts, which is a later model , so i understand the tank itself wont physically fit the car, but….
can i take the pumps and gubbins from the GTI cabrio tank, and run them on my original carb tank?
also, what are the differences between carb and injection tanks?
thanks for any help, Oli

i'm working on another option, it may, and i stress may be possible to fit a lift pump into the carb tank, i've picked up a polo item, and hook that up to the high pressure pump, again this is the standard setup on a polo. this would save changing the tank. however there will be no baffling in the bottom of the tank so fuel surge may be a problem.
best, neatest, and reliable option would be to fit gti tank pump and pipework.

the cabby tank was a direct swap as it was the earlier smaller size.
the only difference i could see between the carb and injection tanks were that the carb tank had an extra exit (very small) that could have been blanked- but as they were the same fitment i chose to simply use the entire GI cab tank and pump set up.
