yer up to about 170bhp,

I worked it out once, the spec of the stock pump is 750ml/30 secs, at WOT on maximum revs the engine would only consume around 1/4 of that. So the original pump is good to around 400bhp.

that should just about do it then
im just theorising about fatter injectors on my pp head tbh

exact figures, i do not know, but i'd certainly not be surprised to see one fuelling 400bhp.

Don't worry about the fuel side, you won't run out of scope on the original injectors or fuel pump. The first limit you'll reach is the metering head, and this is (apparently) good to around 170bhp. "They" say that a 1.6 metering head can flow slightly more (air), so is good to around 180bhp.
If you achieve 170bhp or more from a 1.8 8V engine, let us all know how!!!

never said 1.8 8v tho did i!
Well, 20vT and G60 engines use electronic FI, so the highest output is gonna be a 2 litre 16V or something like that. In which case, I'm all ears….

ive got a few mates who race beemas some on kjet theyre main tunin guy reckons that dub engines underfuel due to the injectors so hence my query.
quality of the explosion is all he keeps going on a bout cryptically!
whats the most bhp ever out of a 8v head?

2.0 16v is the most i'd go for. though i'm putting together a 2.0 cammed 8v for myself.

in theory?

so a 2l 8v could produce 200bhp?
in theory?
The way to get high power outputs out of the 8V is to fit longer duration cam and address issues which mean you can safely rev it higher. Obviously, power is proportional to rpm. So if your standard GTI makes 112bhp at 6400rpm, then if you could make it rev to 8000 without losses, you'd have 140bhp.
