Fuel pump relay location

Can anyone help and let me know the location of the fuel pump relay on a 1984 GTi cab. Got no power to the fuel pump (the one located inside the tank, not under the rear arch) and can't seem to find the relay anywhere.
Also, I have a whine behind the dash when it's trying to start, and wondered if this might me related? Am new to mark ones and a little bit lost as to where to look next!

Just wanted to say thanks again, that really has been helpful. Might just be able to get her started up now! Am also hoping that changing the relay might stop the whining (the car's, not mine!), which seems to be coming from behind the instrument cluster.
