Fuel Pump Question

I have a mk1 golf GTI with a faulty fuel pump and accumulator and have acquired a fuel pump assembly from a mk2 golf. will I be able to take the fuel pump and accumulator only from the mk2 assembly (this would entail the removal of a third component from the assembly) and fit them to my mk1.

seems a lot of a faff mate, from what I can remember from last time I was under a mk2, the pump is completely different?  think accumulator was similar though - might be a bit of a pain in the arse to get it all to fit?  Anything is possible however if you try hard enough.

the accumulator is the same as the mk1 item, but the fuel pump unfortunatly wont work when taken out of the reservoir so its no good to you
