fuel pump dont prime. could it be the coil???
ok basically my fuel pump dont prime and it is giving me probs starting in this cold weather.
now i changed the coil about a yr ago cause the car wernt starting after i rebuilt the head anyways to cut it short it wasnt the coil that was the problem it was the distributor.
anyway i brought the coil from epc and its not a bosch one cant remember the make
but am thinking could this be the problem that my fuel pump dont prime? and if i put my bosch coil back on will it make a differance?
do coils have differnt properties as am sure the pump was priming before this dizzy problem
and i can hear the relay click when i turn the ingnition on.
and i have put 12v onto the pump direct and it primes.
any advice as i have read somwhere that the pump gets its feed from the coil!!!!!

Does your rev counter work? If not, this could be the issue - there is a 5th wire into the fuel pump, which is a trigger from the coil. Its a safety device to cut the pump off if the engine stops but the ignition is still on.

Yes, bypass it and if the car works (and dosn't work when its fitted) its faulty. You bypass it by removing it, then connecting the 2 big terminals (sockets) together in the fusebox.
