fuel problem
hi there
i have a fuel problem with my mk1 clipper it seems to run fine for the first 20 mins and then it starts to have problems and stops running, normally as i'm going up a hill. the AA came and saw the car and said it needed a new fuel pump so i got a new one and it made no difference. it's had a new fuel filter also a notice a earth bonding lead missing of the carb but still i have have the problem. has anyone got any advice :dontknow:

The fuel filler pipe is corroded and the tank is full of cr

the neck of the filler cap has a bit rust but the filter is clear and the old filter was clear also it seem's to have a lot of fuel returning up the evaporator well i think it called thatDaisy44 said

Have you had a look at the gravity valve up in the top if the rear arch?
If this is faulty it can cause a vacuum in the tank after a few minutes driving and cuts out but after a few minutes rest will be fine!!
next time it cuts out open the filler cap and see if it make a suction sound if it does, here is your problem.
