fuel pipe thingy with pic.

hi,
rivage just failed mot on coil spring and rear brake hoses, "easy" i thought. until i looked. my worry is changing the hose on the osr as it sits behind, what i thought was fuel pump. from the pump there is a metal pipe that then runs along side the tank. cant see where it goes after that. the metal pipe is so corroded it looks like it would crumble if disturbed, see pic. the pipe just above the flexi

Two metal fuel lines run the length of the car, what you can see is the one from the accumulator to the meterhead under the bonnet.

See below for when the nice MOT didn't like the look of my rear flexis;

If the are unlucky you might find that the unions between the flexi and metal brake pipes are seized and destroy the metal pipes too, at both ends on both sides of the car……

thanks for reply. had a better look today. the metal pipe i need is only a couple of feet long, if that. it goes from what thought was pump to another thingy which sits between the tank and o.s. sill. top of pic. anyone had same problem or can anyone tell me name of thingy. makes it much easier when ringing for parts! sorry about poor pic quality. thanks again.<img src="https://vw… title="" alt="" />

That white thing is a secondary filter/strainer - there was some details on here a while ago.

Both the fuel supply and return pass through this unit.

I can supply this at ?10 +P+P+VAT

The metal pipe that goes from this to the back of the fuel pump can be replaced with 10 or 11mm bore unleaded fuel hose - again I can supply this stainless braided with clips.
