Found the petrol leak, but where actually is it? *photo*

Well those pipes are soaked in petrol, so:

1. Where could it be coming from?
2. Easy fix/time required?
3. Parts needed (if any)?

Also sometimes the engine starts fine sometimes it needs to turn over, stop and then it will start first time, related?

Cheers guys :)

Most likely worn/perished fuel hose. For good measure, replace the send/return fuel braided hose from the steel pipes to the tank. Sorry don't know size, but wont cost much. This could be causing the starting probelm you mention. If the fuel in hoses/pipes is leaking out while parked, the fuel pump will have to re-fill them before fuel gets to the engine - similar to when you refuel after draining the tank of petrol.

Ah ok, how do you get to the other end of the pipe?

And is it standard part that I can get at any parts shop or do I need to go to German and Swedish?

Cheers

Any ideas on what size they are?

5mm Braided or 7mm fuel/exp.tank hose?

Had a measure and the metal pipe to the front of the car seems to be 7mm  :dontknow:

Went down to the shop today, got 4 ft of fuel hose and 4 5mm clips.

And I changed it myself, in the wind and rain, and, SHE LIVES!!!!

AHahahaha

I feel so happy.

Not the first time I've worked on a car (replaced Volvo 850 Estates Damper mount).

But she lives and she seems much smoother!

However how fast should it idle? Its about 500/600 RPM and seems very close to stalling, any way of getting that up to say 800?

Cheers for your help lads :)
