Exhuast Manifold

Help, ive just joined the site cause im fed up of no one where i live knowing about mk1's. Just fitted an early mk2 Scirocco GTX engine in my Golf, but it has the later C clip Manifold and front pipe, will this match upto a standard Golf system and not rub the body.Bad experience with Mk1 exhausts in the past, so desperate, and it looks close.

Use the 6 stud mk1 manifold and downpipe, flows better than the c clip manifold

Thanks mate, but im slowly running out of cash, and if i get back into using it every day, i'll be putting the 4 branch back on. So it fits i guess?

Probably have a different bore got a gtx here at the moment so could compare

I bought a GTI front pipe yesterday from a breakers, having not looked at the manifold and then a mate phoned to tell me that he'd found a front pipe from the rocco, they look similar same bore for the system, the only thing that looks out is the height the rocco front pipe being shorter. maybe i should stop being so stingy and buy the right one but i really want it on the road asap. Im driving an old BMW at the moment which is costing me a fortune.

Well it fits, or atleast its on their, but i gotta find a middle section tonight, one thing though, Those C clips are C***! One way or the other i dont think it'll be on their long. Thanx for the replies though, it seems they were right, it would have been easier to fit the correct manifold
