Exhausts

Hi there, i have a 1100 golf and a am wondering if a mk1 polo exhaust will fit. Cheers phil

Doubtful, as the floorpan will be a different shape. You might be able to adapt  some sections to fit, but it would definitely be easier to source an exhaust system for a Golf (or even a Jetta).

you will not be able to fit a gti exhaust to a 1.1 lump…..

i have a 1.1 exhaust complete if you are in need of one

Not entirely true, I have a mk3 Polo engine in my MK1. I'm using the GTi system, Polo downpipe and a 3' bit of pipe in between. I imagine the 1.1 has a thinner system, whereas the Polo is the same size as the GTi.

You can fit any exhaust to any engine, just depends how much you want to do it.

Hi there, Does anyone know if a gti down pipe will fit a 1100 manifold, because all the performance exhauts i can find is for a gti, or does any one where i can get one for a 1100 from.  Cheers phil

No hope of it fitting - GTI (and other big-block engines') down-pipes run behind the engine, whereas small-block ones go down the front and under the sump.

Not sure what performance exhausts are available for the 1.1 - Steve Matthews should know - PM him if he doesn't spot this thread…
