Exhaust help..

I have a hole in the pipe that connects the centre pipe to the back box on my 87 1.6 cabriolet.
I went to order the section i needed but euro car parts said that its not a seperate pipe and the section i need is joined onto the backbox, i've picked the pipe up today and on my original exhaust there is 2 hangers on either side of the backbox but on the new one there are not on the side, they are on the top on the pipe.

I'll be taking it back tomorrow but does that new backbox + pipe sound like its from a tintop or something? and does enyone know if you can just buy the section of pipe i need (center section to backbox) because on my original exhaust its a seperate section

most exhaust companies helpfully make their parts interchangeable only a couple of awkward ones like walker do not…

Been back to ecp and they no longer do the pipe i need :-( Tried vw dealer and they dont stock it, went to another motor factors and they cant find the part i need and say the pipe i need must be connected to the middle section of the exhaust

I found the bosal part number its 785-341

can anyone help?

the only thing i'm not sure about is that pipe is for the cat model?? and most pre 92 cars do not have cats .. are you sure it is not a 282509 you need?
