Exhaust blowing ! But Where?
It had a full system fitted just before i bought it, so last night took it all apart and while off, fitted a new manifold gasket cos I thought it might have been that but NO!
The ONLY other place I can think of is where the cast 4 branch fits to the head but it doesnt sound like it's comin from there.
Do MK1's just sound like this cos I really cant find anywhere alse it can be possibly blowing from !
Sorry for the NEWB question !

Have a look at the two branch pipe. There is a seal where it joins to the single pipe - this is known to fail - and have a look at the two brancher - I had a fail on mine - easy replacement and readily available from GSF - can be difficult to spot.
If you have a spare set of hands, get one person to stuff a rag into the tail pipe whilst you look for the leak - you'll soon find it

start the engine then have someone hold a rag over the tail pipe while you have a look.
with the tail pipe blocked the leak will get real loud and a lot easier to find.
if first you dont succeed. read the instructions.
