Decoking

I have a MK1 Clipper and I am finding that the revs are staying at about 2000 - 2500 and that when I stop the engine it keeps chugging for about another 30 seconds, I have been advised that decoking will sort this problem out, if this is the case what is the best way to do this without removing the head?
