Back Firing and Air

Hello,

Could anybody please help me, my car is currently back firing and it also seems that it is drawing air in somewhere which is causing a blockage in his fuel lines.  The engine is a 1.1, when driving him he seems fine but then when you change gears it feels like you are applying the brakes then when you try and give him some more gas he just cuts out.  After a few minutes of waiting you try him again and he will tick over again until today he just wont start.

I am at a lost if anybody could advise me as to what they think the problem could be that would be great.

changed the distributor cap/rotor arm recently?

corroded filler neck?

check leads and plugs

I will check all of these probably filler neck, its majorly doing my head in now though          

leads and plugs are all newly fitted all though dizzy cap is a bit loose and rotor arm will need checking thanks I will let you know.

I am going to Mill autos tomorrow to get a new dizzy cap and rotor arm, then possibly a new filler neck and tank flush when I have read my manual a bit more.

And Dave I will change the fuel filter TOMORROW so please don't shout at me I am feeling rather sad as it it…. :cry:

And no matter how much Tafy does my head in I cant bring myself to kick him however I have hurt my foot because I did kick the damn fence….

I will let you know how I get on in the meantime please give this girl a break…… ops:

You were not by yourself over the head gasket mate I also had very nervous rumblings of that and yes I would love to borrow your hose clamp.
