Are all Pierburg 2e2 carbs the same?

Hi guys,

My mate has a Pierburg 2e2 carb from a 1.6 mk2 which is much better condition than the one in my 92 1.8 clipper.

Would this be a simple direct swap or are there differences between them?

1.6 and 1.8 are jetted differently but other than that yes they are basically the same. if you feel up to it could swap the jets over, but what i would do is try to keep the base carb and just swap bits over from the nicer carb and repair bits as you go. use the 2e2 faq, main thing to look at is the coolant channel oring in the inlet manifold
