Yeh I have fitted a full set of Goodridge stainless hoses.
Can not tell you how well they work yet (car is still being built) but boy they do look good!

I repaired my fracture on the fuel line, using a small piece of copper micro bore and two compression fittings, which I purchased from B&Q for about a fiver. It was supposed to be a temporary repair but still ok after about 3 years.

Looks ok as the compression fittings are small. Got the micro bore from B&Q off the roll. The job takes about 30 minutes, but be careful cutting the pipes because you don't want a spark! have a fire extinguisher at hand.
Crazyquiff also does some repair kits http://www.golfmk1.co.uk/SolidFuelPipes.htm

are you cutting the pipe with 9inch angle grinder??but you are right to say about the dangers of working with or near the fuel system :dontknow:

I fitted some from CQ about 2 years ago - so far so good.
When I fitted mine I removed the rubber grommets which the original lines ran through, and bent the tangs back into place (they're just the right size for the braided pipe). I put some gaffer tape around the pipes where they go through the tangs to prevent chafing.
I should have kept the rubber grommets though, just in case (haven't needed them so far but you never know!)

can i suggest inner tube as a replacement for you gaffer tape.
if and when my lines go i will be fitting briaded lines. purely for ease of fitting.

thought he just did solid lines. how does it work. braided lines just go in place of solid one, and rubbers at the end going to carb and to sender will still be there (mines a non gti if it makes a diference)

crazyquiff - how do the repair sections work, if i cut the section out, do the ends need to be flared or is an olive used or something else?
