Ye olde hazard problem but I'm stumped

So the indicators and hazards stopped working on my 81 golf,

It's a series 2 but with the series one box just to make things hard work! I've changed the switch and now I have indicators but the hazards still don't work! If the ignition is off I et nothing if te ignition is on I just get a solid green light..

Does this sound like the relay? I can't seem to work out which fuse to check n it's pretty hard to tell without taking the ceramic ones out.. Then they fall apart so would rather not check them all lol.. Any ideas!?

i ve got the same problem at the moment with the same fusebox and to be fair driving me mad :/

Problem is I can't get mine for an mot without them and without an mot i can't move it off my drive where it's gaining a dent per second!!! No one seems to give a hoot that the car that I've spent 3 years building is getting ruined by them dropping stuff on it n using the roof as a storage place!!

Try putting the haz switch to the mid pos, so it not on or off,iir there is posts on this problem,sorry cant be more help. :dontknow:

Tried that still get noting. Be alot simpler if it was either a s1 or s2 but it's a cross over and it's bugging the hell out of me!!

yeah i know the feeling my dashboard was out for 2 days last week with electrical problems and tbf there is still no hazards or indicators but its my daily so not good but have to use it !

well the only other thing i can suggest is RUBJONNY,that man knows his stuff :dontknow:

ah think ye have lost ze permanent live feed for your hazard switch, thats the red/yel wire to pin 30 so check there 1st.
it comes from fusebox pin D/21 and is fed off fuse #6, this one also does the radio and the brake lights

i ll have to try that one 2 as mine still do nothing !!
