1-2: red/yel - coolant temp sensor on front flange, with black collar
yel - oil pressure switch on side of head
blue/black oil pressure switch on filter housing
black double spade - not sure? carb related maybe? leave that off for now

3: starter motor, should be another section that plugs into this and runs to starter.

4: black - coil +ve/15
green and red/black - coil -ve/1
green - not sure? was the car originally points ignition? if so this is the coil -ve wire for the points trigger. the wires abouve arte from the electronic ignition TCI unit so you have a mix n match situation!

5: is that black and purple/white? if so as per 4 you have a points ignition engine loom, this is not going to work with an electronic ignition coil and tci unit. you need to cut the purple/white wire out of the loom and run a fresh ign live wire to the fusebox, the purple/white is a resistor wire to the coil +ve and it wont supply enough power for an electronic ignition coil

6: reverse switch

1-2 the red yellow coolant temp is that on the thermostat housing?
The 2 for the oil pressure switch do they go to the 2 sensors on the back of the head which we spoke about in a different post for vdo gauges?  Does it matter which way round they go?

3, is it a spade to spade piece that goes on the 2 spade connection on the starter?
4, the green is part of that plug and connects to the coil in the - part then should it go on to the condenser on the distributor?
5, that wire is in pic 4 it is a black wire and looks like a pink/purple and white,

This is where it goes to in the fuse box,
6, I have changed the box to a 5 speed so do them 2 just Need to fit onto the sensor on the box? Does it matter which way round?

1-2. yes red/yel goes to a sensor in the coolant flange. black/blue is the high pressure switch 1.8bar, yellow is 0.3bar. 1.8 is usually white, blue is usually 0.3 but double check the markings!

3. yes there is another section of loom that plugs in here, then it runs to starter

4. yes the green from coil -ve should go to the distributor :)

5. yes that goes to coil +ve

6. look for a 2 pin switch on the box, the wires go to that. either way round makes no difference. if its a later box it may have a different plug, if so get to scrappy cut off and splice to your wires :)

The 2 spade connections on the starter do they just want linking together with the plug in pic 3?

And the + bat on the coil will just go to the battery?

The 2 spade connections on the starter are numbered, 50, 15a
Am I missing a plug the same as this which joins together with this 1 that then splits into to spades that go to the starter? Which way round do they go thou

Do the 2 ring terminals from the alternator both connect to the starter at the same point like in the pic?

yes, you have a section of loom that plugs into that 2 pin plug, then runs to the starter. red/black gors to 50, black to 15a

cheers for all the help rubjonny, almost get everything sorted out,
does the + Bat go straight to the battery or is the ment to be a connection in the loom for it?

Does the bat + from the coil go straight to the battery as the isn't anything in the loom to connect it?
