Where can I get a new front windscreen wiper motor from?

Hi all

My lovely new Y reg just passed its MOT and then the windscreen wiper motor packed in. It's kaput.

Where would I find a replacement? I know I could potentially get one from a scrappy, but do VAG still make them? Would CrazyQuiff have one?

Also, I've seen some posts on here about people having a nightmare with trying to fit Mk2 wiper motors to their Mk1s. I know Mk1s are traditionally a bit shonky on the old wiper front, is there any way of easily uprating them (change a resistor or summit like that)?

I have fitted a mk 2 wiper motor its not that hard and is an awesome upgrade just do a search on the forum dude !

I have MK1 motors  

The main reason the MK1 motor is slow is the spindles seizing up - make sure they are good and fit another motor.

I'm sure the Mk2 motor is better but the mk1 motor is fine is the spindles are not tight
