What's this wire?

Right here goes my first stupid question with many apologies.

(I've got an '83 GX with 1500 petrol engine)

I just changed the water return hose from the heater and have just noticed this loose wire above it.

It's yellow with a red stripe and ends in a spade connector. It wants to go into the top of the engine with the other yellow wire but there appears to be no place for it to connect up to. :dontknow:

If anyone can enlighten me it would be brilliant, cheers.

P.s it's probably me being totally dense so be gentle please)

Hi,it goes to the watertemp sender in the photo,looks like a hex nut with a silver roung thing on top to slide the spade onto

Ive got a GX for sale,was going to cut it up but its too good,alloys, new brakes,new engine and gearbox out of low mileage jetta,loads of new bits,not rotten,just needs using
